Chesterfield-based Taylor Made for You Gift Basket Company Gets New Owner | Economic news

Taylor Made for You, a Chesterfield County-based personalized gift basket business, has changed ownership.

The company, founded in 1988 by Ann Powell and her mother, Rachael Dickerson, has been sold to two sisters, Tammy Johnston and Jill Klinchock.

Terms of the deal, which took effect on July 1, were not disclosed.

The sisters, who had worked together for Care Advantage, a home care company, hope to double the size of Taylor Made for You within the next year.

The sisters chose to buy the business because they were “looking for a change”. Both had worked in the healthcare industry for a long time and were discussing different avenues.

Klinchock received an email in the spring in which Powell said she was looking to sell the business. Klinchock then called his sister to tell her that “this must be a sign” that the two should change careers.

“My sister has tons of marketing experience, and I have tons of financial background, so we’re a great team,” Klinchock said. “Taylor Made has been a great, long-time company, and I think being a new owner will be fun and exciting.”

Both sisters were clients of the Powell-owned business.

“I was delivered a gift basket when I quit my previous job and realized how much of a difference they can make in people’s lives,” said Johnston. “We have a lot of different creative ideas for the marketing side of this business and plan to build it a lot bigger than it is now.”
