San Antonio’s Freetail Brewing picked up two Gold Craft Beer Marketing Awards for beer can design.

Freetail Brewing of San Antonio twice struck gold at the last Craft Beer Marketing Awards, earning accolades for the design work of its Yeet The Hops IPA and Spicy PURO Pickles cans.

The CBMAs claims to be the only global awards competition for craft beer artwork, culture and design, in case you were wondering.

Freetail received two gold-level awards – called Crushies – for their work with Anderson Marketing Group on the two packages, which were rated in the Best Can Design, 8-15 Ounce category.

Yeet The Hops IPA is a Hazy New England-style IPA from Freetail’s Ghost Pixel Studio side project, while Spicy PURO Pickles is a zesty version of the brewer’s sweet and sour Gose Bier, brewed with ancho chiles, pequin chili and chipotle.

Freetail was one of seven Texas breweries to place in the 2022 CBMAs. The others were Austin Beerworks, Pinthouse Brewing, both in Austin; Vector Brewing in Dallas; and the Houston-area No Label Brewery, Eureka Heights Brewery and SpindleTap Brewery.

In each year’s CBMAs, a panel of industry professionals from 24 countries evaluate entries in more than 30 categories. This year’s panel was made up of some 500 big names in the industry.
