Lazada and Grab Partner to Offer Same Day Delivery to SG Buyers

Lazada and Grab have joined forces to provide same day delivery services to consumers in Singapore. This will allow Lazada merchants to use GrabExpress to deliver their offers to consumers during the day. The partnership will also increase revenue opportunities for GrabExpress delivery partners.

The same day delivery option via GrabExpress is currently available for over 50 Lazada merchants, including Aroma Truffle, JBL and Shine Korea, among others. However, this service will only be available to buyers on weekdays and orders must be placed before 3 p.m. Same day delivery will also only apply to delivery locations within 30 km of the selected merchant. In a joint statement, Lazada and Grab said the partnership follows a booming convenience economy, where consumers increasingly expect to receive their purchases on the same day or almost instantly – where speed is everything. . According to PwC’s Global Consumer Insights Pulse Survey of June 2021, “fast and reliable delivery” was the most important factor consumers consider when making a purchase. At the same time, a McKinsey report also found that around a quarter of consumers are willing to pay more for faster or same day delivery.

Ngiam Xin Wei, director of deliveries at Grab Singapore, said that over the past year, more and more companies have turned to GrabExpress to fulfill same day last mile delivery of orders. “We have thus introduced programs such as the GrabExpress Towkay Club aimed at helping small businesses grow their operations. The partnership also precedes Lazada Singapore’s 11.11 shopping festival, for which the e-commerce platform is going all out – even offering a one-bedroom condominium in Normanton Park, co-sponsored by PropNex.
