Studio K Designs personalizes the perfect holiday gift

Karen Foust’s family are warning visitors not to stay too long in one place. Her passion is personalization, and they joke that she will monogram anything that doesn’t move.

Foust stays especially busy with her professional embroidery machine during the holidays, but busy is exactly what she loves. She enjoys creating specialty gifts for her neighbors in the Lake Highlands and imagining their joy when they open the package.

“I have always been a cunning person,” says Foust. “My mother was an artist and it was from her that I got my trick. I worked in medical sales until COVID hit, and I didn’t sit still for very long. Before the pandemic I created Studio K Designs and did some painting and customization on the side. Now I put all my energy into it and I love it. I love to be creative and am constantly thinking about what I can create next.

Foust embroiders on pajamas, hats, bags, shirts, towels and most other items delivered to his porch. She can heat press or sublimate t-shirts, mugs and koozies, and she is well known in Canton for her “BarkDanas,” which are personalized dog bandanas worn on the collar. She laser burns hand-crafted raw-edged charcuterie boards and hand-painted wood panels and wine glasses. Custom Yetis are also big sellers.

Foust has catalogs to help customers select their gifts, but many already have their goodies ready to be personalized when they contact her. She makes the process easier – just drop your items off at her door at 9212 Clover Valley Drive, and she’ll contact you when they’re ready to be picked up. You can reach her at [email protected] or at 214-850-3417.

Foust also does family, wedding, baby and senior photos, and you can check out Foust Photography here.
