Nicola Rooney, 38, claims Hermes left her husband’s surprise gift on their doorstep in Birkenhead, Merseyside – a site countless people pass by every day
Woman says Hermes ruined Christmas for her husband after a “disgusting” childbirth.
Nicola Rooney, 38, from Birkenhead, Merseyside, had been waiting 12 days for a Remington razor to arrive – a surprise gift for her partner Tank, 29.
As the days passed and the package did not appear, she contacted online retailer, Studio, to inquire about the heist.
She told the Echo of Liverpool : “I ordered a £ 32 Remington razor for my husband and wondered where he was, as it doesn’t take 12 days to get here.
âWhen I contacted Studio, they told me it had been delivered. I checked with Hermès and they had a picture of it right on the doorstep.
“I never received it, it is clear from the photo that I did not receive it.”
Nicola ‘says she was “disgusted” because it was “obvious” that they left her knowing that no one was there to sign.
She said: âIt’s disgusting. You can clearly see in the photo that no one was there to take the package, they usually have photos of a delivery showing the door open, but obviously the door is closed.
âIt’s really frustrating because we live around the corner and everyone can see it.
“It completely ruined Christmas for him [Tank] because there is no surprise. “
Nicola says Studio agreed to refund the money and send in a new razor.
She added, “That’s the premise of the question. I’ve seen similar things like this happen to others.
âSomething has to be done, Hermes has a duty of care, they should be named and humiliated.
“I’m lucky it wasn’t very valuable and I got my money back. But it could have been something very expensive, so throwing it away is unacceptable, they take no pride in it.”
A spokesperson for Hermes said: “We have been in contact with Ms Rooney to apologize for any inconvenience and provide her with a full refund so that she can order another razor in time for Christmas.
âIt is a very busy time of year and our local couriers are working hard to deliver, so we ask people to try to be home when they are waiting for a delivery or to choose an alternative service such as delivering. to a neighbor or ParcelShop if applicable.
âAnyone experiencing delivery issues should contact their dealer or seller first, who in turn will contact Hermes if necessary. “
